Arsenal are in danger of sliding out of contention for a top-four finish and Wenger, whose last Premier League title was 13 years ago, said: "We have a big fight, I agree with you and it could be very hard now". It will not necessarily be linked with the top four because I've done that 20 times.

The Frenchman's contract expires in the summer, and with the Emirates club now on the worst run they have experienced under more than two decades of Wenger's leadership, speculation is mounting that he could step aside at the end of the campaign.

Only time will tell Wenger's fate, but the next few rounds are crucial in his employment status at Arsenal Football Club.
