Egypt's el-Sissi to meet Trump in Washington in early April

Abbas left meets with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi in Cairo Egypt Thursday

Following his Monday meeting with al-Sisi, Abbas departed Cairo after a two-day visit.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi held what Egyptian media called a "reconciliation" meeting in Cairo on Monday.

President Trump extended the invitation, according to White House officials who spoke with Reuters.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Cairo the latest developments in efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, state news agency MENA reported late Sunday. The crackdown was frequently criticised by the Obama administration, which suspended some aid and sought to distance itself from el-Sisi's government.

McCluskey had to show leadership over the issue, Watson said: "We could do with him trying to understand how important this is". He also discusses an affiliation with the Unite union, the largest trade union in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Sisi "stressed the importance" of the U.S. administration's "pivotal role in pushing forward the peace process" to try to find a solution to the decades-old Palestinian-Israeli conflict leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The summit came after US President Donald Trump president waded into the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict, sending one of his top advisers to the region last week for talks with Abbas, Jordanian King Abdullah II and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

They also tackled coordinating stances as well as mobilizing support to the Palestinian cause to enable the Palestinians to get their rights in the framework of a two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Sisi, who had strained relations with Trump's predecessor Barack Obama, was elected in 2014, a year after leading the military's ousting of the democratically elected president, Mohamed Morsi, after mass protests.
