"Yeah, we believed", said Jones.

"This was a game that was there for the taking if we would have executed down the stretch", Enfield said.

SC goes on to meet third-seeded Baylor in the East Region semifinals Friday night at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The University of SC dodged a major bullet tonight in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

"They played a heck of a game", said Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. "We have won games like that", said sophomore guard Luke Kennard, who made just one field goal in 28 minutes and fouled out with 11 points.

Duke did its share to thwart the Gamecocks on defense, too, holding SC to 7-of-35 shooting the first 20 minutes.

About an hour later, South Carolina, a 7½-point underdog and plus-310 on the money line, stunned Duke in an 88-81 win that not only busted countless brackets but also knocked out a ton of futures tickets on the Blue Devils.

What time is the Baylor-South Carolina game?

Wham, Bam, move on 'Cats (31-5), right into the Sweet 16 for the seventh time in nine years.

Those fans have come to appreciate the renaissance of SC basketball. They had tied a season high with 18 turnovers against the relentless Gamecocks attack.

Notice and Silva joined Thornwell and Dozier in double figures with 10 each.

Syracuse Blows Out Iowa State
Syracuse held close with the Huskies out of the gate-it was still a two-point game with just under six minutes left in the half. Ruthy Hebard had 20 points and 15 rebounds, and OR earned its first Sweet 16 berth by upsetting Duke at Durham, North Carolina.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Cazorla and Bando made it a 15-point game with eight minutes remaining, and a 7-0 response from the Blue Devils led by Brown and senior Oderah Chidom was not enough to get Duke within striking distance.

SC - whose campus is just 120 miles from Greenville - had a majority of the fans in the arena on Friday night in its win over Marquette.

"I thought we were playing our butts off", Krzyzewski said. That was when the Blue Devils won four games in four days to capture the ACC tournament title, the first team ever to do that.

"We've done it before". "We like a game with noise", Duke guard Grayson Allen told reporters. Shots just didn't fall. "We just appreciate them and all that they do for us and we come out and play hard for them just as we did today". Only twice in the last 32 years has Duke failed to get out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years (1995-96 and 1996-97 and 2006-07 and 2007-08). "They fed off the crowd, I think, and it gave them a lot of energy".

If you just woke up from a dream in which the dude from "The Dan Band" was singing "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" to the crying Northwestern kid, consider yourself lucky.

Florida State 77, Missouri 55: Shakayla Thomas scored 20 points and third-seeded Florida State advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third straight season with a victory over No. 6 seed Missouri. This group was more talented than the 2014 team that lost to Mercer in the round of 64 and it was better than the 2012 team that was done in by C.J. McCollum and Lehigh in their first NCAA tournament game.

That's how Duke made all those insane second half comebacks last week. They'll certainly be a different looking team next year with seniors like Jones and Amile Jefferson finishing up and freshmen like Jayson Tatum, considering the National Basketball Association.

The Blue Devils, a popular pick for a deep run based on its fast finish, fell to SC 88-81 on Sunday night, capping a miserable opening weekend for the ACC.

Now the season is over, and it comes to a SC team that had not won an NCAA tournament game in 44 years before this season.

North Carolina is likely to have far more fans in the stands than Arkansas, but the Razorbacks have fared well in hostile arenas this season.
