North Korea rocket-engine test shows "meaningful" progress: South Korea

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday criticized North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying he was "acting very, very badly".

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pushed back against the tougher USA line on North Korea, reiterating his country's view that the only way to rein in its reclusive neighbor is through talks.

Kim assured the "whole world will soon witness what eventful significance the great victory won today carries".

Last week, Tillerson issued the Trump administration's starkest warning yet to North Korea, saying in Seoul that a military response would be "on the table" if it took action to threaten South Korean and US forces.

Last week Tillerson, who was in Seoul, said that Washington would consider military action against North Korea if it was provoked.

Kim Jong-Un attended the March 18 test at the Sohae launch site, according KCNA, which said the test was meant to confirm the "new type" of engine's thrust power and gauge the reliability of its control system and structural safety. "I will tell you he is acting very, very badly", the U.S. president said.

"The Korean peninsula nuclear issue in nature is an issue between the United States and the DPRK", Wang said, using the acronym for North Korea's formal name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"I had a lot of meetings on that meetings on that: meetings on North Korea". And that's not an unusual outcome.

South Korea's military declined to comment.

Kim said earlier this year that the millitary was preparing to test an intercontinental ballistic missile.

"This is a drill", the voice says.
