North Korean leader acting very badly: Donald Trump

Trump, who traveled to his Mar-a-Lago resort this weekend, said he discussed North Korea's missile launches during weekend meetings.

Tensions between the US and North Korea have worsened in the wake of a series of successful missile launches by Pyongyang-including four rockets fired into the sea northwest of Japan on March 6-and massive U.S.

It has conducted five nuclear tests since 2006 - three under Kim Jong-Un - and launched a number of missiles as it seeks to develop a weapon capable of reaching the U.S. mainland.

Kim Jong-Un attended the March 18 test at the Sohae launch site, according KCNA, which said the test was meant to confirm the "new type" of engine's thrust power and gauge the reliability of its control system and structural safety.

"The leader (Kim) noted that the success made in the current test marked a great event of historic significance as it declared a new birth of the Juche-based rocket industry". Tillerson also visited South Korea and China before wrapping up his first visit to Asia as a Secretary of State.

Kim Jong Un acting very, very badly
The test site is close to where North Korea launched four extended-range Scud missiles into the Sea of Japan earlier this month. South Korea's military declined to comment.

The paper also claimed that the firing of a new intermediate-range ballistic missile, called Pukguksong-2, on February 12 and four ballistic missiles on March 6 were steps to fight "constant United States invasion intimidations".

Sources close to the matter on Saturday said that besides the four, another North Korean man, identified as Chang Nam Un, in his mid-30s, also played a key role in the murder plot and fled Malaysia on the same day as them. Tillerson said clearly the time has come to take a "different approach" with North Korea, inasmuch as diplomatic efforts have failed.

Tillerson met with Chinese President Xi Jinping two days after saying that pre-emptive military action against North Korea might be necessary if the threat from its weapons program reaches a level "that we believe requires action".

The United Nations forbids North Korea from conducting long-range missile tests, but allows its satellite program for peaceful use.
