The House GOP bill is the party's attempt, with control of both chambers of Congress and the White House, to finally make good on seven years' worth of promises to repeal and replace Obama's health care law. House leaders discussed other amendments calibrated to round up votes and scheduled a showdown vote Thursday. It is nothing more than a gift to the rich and a disaster for the rest of us.

"If Republicans hold a big press conference and pat ourselves on the back that we've repealed Obamacare and everyone's premiums keep going up, people will be ready to tar and feather us on the streets and quite rightly", Cruz said. To the many Americans who barely make a living wage, a health insurance tax deduction is a cruel joke. We will take care of our people, or I'm not signing it. The report found that 24 million people would become uninsured by 2026.

Ryan also said Republicans are working on changes that would allow federal block grants to states for Medicaid. For lower-income people age 50 to 64, Ryan said of the tax credits, "We think we should be offering even more assistance than the bill now does".

At a late rally in Nashville Wednesday, Trump said: "We're going to arbitrate, we're all going to get together, we're going to get something done". But moderate Republicans are balking over the CBO's findings that millions more people would lack coverage even while premiums in many cases could rise.

Even if the healthcare bill were to pass the House, it also would face significant challenges in the Senate. He joins GOP Rep. John Katko, from a closely divided district in upstate NY, who cited inadequate insurance access and cost controls. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, opposes the Republican health care bill during work by the House Budget Committee, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, March, 16, 2017.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said she would not vote for the measure without additional changes to provide more aid to older Americans.

Active Stock Momentum: Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (KTOS)
For the past 5 years, the company's revenue has grown 52.2%, while the company's earnings per share has grown 31.1%. Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (NASDAQ: KTOS ) last announced its earnings results on Monday, February 27th.

Ryan at one point said that his party faced the "binary choice" of backing the GOP replacement plan that he and his lieutenants crafted or sticking with an Obamacare health insurance system that was fast collapsing of its own weight and driving up premiums for millions of Americans.

Mr. Ryan can't afford to lose more than 21 GOP votes, since no Democrats are expected to support the bill, but he's optimistic. Votes House Speaker Paul Ryan needs to pass the bill. They have in the House plan bailouts for insurance companies.

If you don't believe there is a major class conflict dividing our nation, look no further than the Republican alternative to the Affordable Care Act.

Asked on Hugh Hewitt's radio show about Cotton's opposition, Ryan replied, "I love this, because we've gotten criticized by other folks in the conservative movement for waiting too long". "We are encouraged that we're seeing an increase in defense because we think our military has been hollowed out".

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise said the changes strengthened the whip count, but he stopped short of saying leaders had gathered the 216 votes they need.
