Average retail gasoline prices in Wyoming have not moved in the past week, averaging $2.21/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 494 gas outlets in Wyoming. Prices have declined 14 of the last 16 days across the country. The national average for regular unleaded is $2.29 per gallon. Rockford's average is $2.24, down a penny from last week. The five states taking the largest increases were OH (up 6.5 cents), IN (6.3 cents), Utah (3.6 cents a gallon), IL (2.5 cents) and MI (2.3 cents). That's about 33 cents more than it was at the same point previous year. Drivers across the US are paying an average $2.29 per gallon.
In the meantime, oil refineries will have to confront the rising demand of fuel as they transition from winter blend gasoline to summer-blend, which could potentially cause pump prices to rise 20-40 cents by Memorial Day, Jenkins said. States posting the highest prices are Hawaii ($3.064 a gallon), California ($2.997), Washington ($2.845), Alaska ($2.739) and OR ($2.672).
