San Jose: Car-to-car shooting injures one, shuts down freeway

A 17-year-old boy remains hospitalized after he was shot in the face and back on U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officer Jodie Beck of the Yuba Sutter Area CHP reports the Prius was heading northbound at around 6:04 a.m. on Sacramento Valley Boulevard, just north of Maddock Road.

There is one reported injury, but no further details were available.

CHP investigators determined the driver of the Prius continued straight when entering a right curve in the road, the release said. The closure was moved to the state Highway 280/680 split, according to Lee.
