Rita's offers free italian ice on Monday March 20

It's a tradition the national company has repeated for two decades, and previous year, the chain gave away over one million Italian ices in a nine-hour period.

Rita's of Vacaville on Alamo Drive is open between noon and 9 p.m. and the freebie will be served in a limited-edition, First Day of Spring cup. "And we are kicking off the season with free ice for customers". If you want multiple servings, a larger size or something fancier, like a gelati or blendini, you'll have to pay.

Celebrate the kickoff of the new season Monday with free, frozen treats from Dairy Queen and Rita's Italian Ice.

Shaquille O'Neal Thinks the Earth is Flat Too Now
I don't need to fully rehash why we know the Earth is round. 'I'm just saying when I drive from Florida to NY ; flat. I'm not even going to unpack the "360-degree angle" thing, as I'm still stuck on the physics of how that would work.

Every year, Rita's Italian Ice treats every customer to free Italian ice in honor of the first day of spring. Find a Rita's near you.

Today is the first day of spring.

Guests are encouraged to help spread "Ice, Custard and Happiness" this first day of spring by snapping a photo and sharing it on social media using #RitasFirstDayOfSpring to enter into the Rita's First Day of Spring Photo Contest. Runners up will receive Rita's gift cards.
