DNC Boasts: Democrat Won Local Clerk-of-Court Race in Suburban Virginia!

Republicans were served with another wake-up call as they received another reminder of President Donald Trump's unpopularity when Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff narrowly missed winning the seat Republicans have held for the last 40 years.

Republican challenger Karen Handel is expected to have an advantage in the runoff election scheduled for June 20 due to the fact that more voters supported Republicans than Ossoff at the polls Tuesday.

Democrat Jon Ossoff, a 30-year-old former congressional aide fueled by a colossal fundraising haul from out-of-state donors, came within two percentage points of an outright majority win Tuesday in an 18-candidate field in Georgia's traditionally Republican 6th Congressional District.

Despite Ossoff's significant financial advantage, a slew of liberal celebrities boosting his profile, and a Democratic base eager to tag a win against Trump, the documentary filmmaker-turned-politician failed to reach the 50 percent threshold required to avoid a runoff.

"You're looking at the top Republican vote-getter, y'all", said Handel, to cheers, claiming her spot in the slimmed down race a little after 11 p.m.

Voters in the 6th District have also elected the likes of Republican U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, who represented the 6th from 1999 to 2005, and most recently, former Republican U.S. Representative Tom Price held the seat from 2005 until he resigned in 2017 to become the Nation's Health Secretary.

The White House has claimed a special election in Georgia in which a young Democrat came first by nearly 30 points, was in fact a "big loss" for the party. "His support will be critically important and should be looked at as a road map as we unify our party, bringing together Republicans and conservatives to stand against Democrats on June 20th", she said.

One of Trump's signature "Make America Great Again" hats was spotted in Tom Brady's locker in 2015. The reality is is that real-life "family matters" as his reason for not being able to attend.

Ossoff came up short despite the $8-million-plus that poured into his campaign from outside the state - causing Investor's Business Daily to label the night "an overhyped dud". and instead of an "anti-Trump wave", more like "a very expensive ripple". "Glad to be of help!" Ossoff, who grew up in the district, says he will move back if he wins. Mr Trump himself targeted Mr Ossoff with robocalls and a barrage of Twitter messages. The 6th is thought to be solidly Republican, the home of Newt Gingrich and Johnny Isakson and although this race was an all party primary, it was anything but.

Cuomo, April 19: The question is, is this repeatable success in some of these close call places where Clinton won but you have current Republican congressional members in the seats?

"There is no doubt that this is already a victory for the ages", Ossoff told his ecstatic supporters Tuesday night.

"This race is absolutely and entirely a referendum on President Trump", said one Republican consultant granted anonymity to speak candidly about the contest.

At the White House, spokesman Sean Spicer tried to do exactly that.

"We know what's at stake here and I don't think this is about any one person", Handel said Wednesday.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of SC said the race showed how the South was changing.
