Donald Trump Protests To Continue With March For Science, People's Climate March

"Because attacks on science don't just hurt scientists, they hurt scientists' ability to protect the people, and climate change epitomizes that", Supran said.

Bruce Monger, a lecturer at Cornell who teaches earth and atmospheric sciences, is organizing another busload of about 50 undergraduates heading to the march in Washington from the university's main campus in Ithaca, N.Y. He said it's time that researchers speak up and make the public aware of the value of science.

"I think it is fair to say that this administration catalyzed the happening of this march, there is no doubt about that", she told reporters.

Has your work been impacted by any specific policy changes by the Trump administration?

Partners of the march now include hundreds of universities and scientific societies.

The movement quickly gained momentum and now more than 500 satellite marches being held globally.

Although the March for Science has been endorsed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, not all scientists are in support of the protest.

The march, taking place in London, Washington D.C. and over 400 other cities on the 22 of April 2017, gives scientists the opportunity to demonstrate their passion for scientific research.

Plenty for Mercedes to consider at F1 Bahrain test
Under the safety vehicle , I just misjudged it myself the situation; that was my fault. "I didn't find any words", he said. In Bahrain , the Briton recognised he could have put himself in a much better position to win.

He is still not sure whether he will attend the march on Thursday. There have also been talks of a knitted brain hat - similar to the "Pussyhats" donned by demonstrators at the Women's March.

Participants cite myriad reasons for their involvement in the march, including threats from President Donald Trump's administration to cut grant funding. "Science knows no borders", he said. "We want to really effect change in a bigger way than we might have been able to do up till now". Workers in the department state this was a way to stop research emerging that could contradict US Government policy under Trump. "Whether we as a scientific community like it or not, science has been politicized". They are marching to defend the vital role science plays in our communities and our world.

And what makes partnership with March for Science all the more meaningful is that this year's Earth Day theme is climate and environmental science literacy.

On both the national and local scale, the movement has focused on aspects such as the acceptance of science as a process, not just a body of knowledge, and how this process is inherently democratic in nature.

The march aims to provide a nonpartisan call to action, celebrating science and urging policymakers to base decisions on scientific evidence.

Some aren't marching for one cause, but for several. Of all the many solutions to global warming and other environmental problems, none is as powerful as people getting together to demand change. But recent attacks are galvanizing scientists and supporters throughout the US and elsewhere. "This medication not only saved his life but it saved him from having to suffer awful long-term side effects", Williams wrote. Science shows us that wetlands help prevent flooding while providing a buffer between pollution and our drinking water sources.

Meanwhile Mark Tymecki from Toronto wrote to CTVNews.ca about a heartbreaking moment in his life when he and his wife lost their baby. I am old enough to have witnessed significant environmental degradation in places like the Florida Keys and Mexico's Gulf of California, where I've taken students on field excursions over a teaching career spanning three and a half decades.
