Katy Perry faces wrath as she posts picture of Goddess Kali

Yesterday, the "Kissed A Girl" singer - who recently split from long-time boyfriend, Orlando Bloom - uploaded a photograph to her 63.5million Instagram followers of an Indian goddess, along with the caption "current mood".

One user commented: "Do you have any right to insult others god?" "Pls stop over reacting on her post.instead see what other bastards (non Indians) r writing ewww, satanic n all". You're using pics of our Goddesses as memes?'

"This is a shameful and offensive act".

After explaining that the goddess was in pain having disrespected Shiva, the user added, "So how should I put in words that you understand the real meaning behind this picture".

Another was left fuming, and referred to Perry as a "b****".

Babri case returns to haunt BJP veterans
Muslims objected and both parties went to court, beginning a decades-long legal fight over the right to worship at the site. A Muslim group appealed and the Supreme Court in 2011 overturned the lower court's ruling, leaving the issue unresolved.

Some of the comments read, "Listen up Kitty Katty.Let me ask you a Question". Delete this post asap.

This is not the first time that Perry has shown interest in India or an Indian god.

In the past, the 32-year-old has said that although she was raised in a conservative Christian household and both her parents were pastors, she did not identify with any religion. "I'm not Buddhist, I'm not Hindu, I'm not Christian, but I still feel like I have a deep connection with God", she was quoted as saying.

Perry was famously married to comedian Russell Brand, and the couple had a traditional Indian ceremony in the state of Rajasthan. "Well you are free to do whatever you like but as we all love and respect you I request you ma'am to please understand your Indians fans sentiments are getting disrespected and take this picture down".
