Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes it does not "make sense" for striker Marcus Rashford to go to the 2017 European Championship as part of the England Under-21 squad.
At least seven Manchester United fans were killed and several more injured in a mass electrocution in Nigeria on Thursday night while watching their team's 2-1 Europa League victory over Anderlecht.
Relieved Jose Mourinho declared his trust in Marcus Rashford repaid as the striker's extra time victor kept alive Manchester United's hopes of Champions League football next season, through the Europa League back door.
Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic also suffered a major injury, and it's possible that the Swedish superstar may have played his final game in a United shirt.
"I want to wait and try to be optimistic, but I am not".
"Some players don't know what makes me trust a player but Marcus I trust", Mourinho told BT Sport.
"I want to wait", Mourinho said when asked about the injury status of the duo.
The high-tension cable fell on a crowded shack showing the Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht in the southern city of Calabar.
Trump strategy on N. Korea: 'Maximum pressure, engagement'
State television showed what appeared to be several KN-08 intercontinental missiles rolled out on trucks at the parade. An official from South Korea's Defense Ministry couldn't immediately confirm whether the rocket was a new ICBM.
With both men now sidelined, he said: "I think it's time".
Mourinho also commented specifically on the injuries to his central defenders: "It is time for Jones & Smalling to be fearless & to risk".
While Rashford's form can cover for the absence of leading scorer Ibrahimovic, the loss of Rojo is more of a concern for Mourinho who now faces a potential defensive crisis at a crucial point in the season.
"We can not do miracles".
"He (Rooney) has a good mentality, he is a fighter, he is a strong man, even if he is not in the best condition, even if he is not in the level of sharpness that you need to play high-level football", Mourinho said.
"There are no miracles, but with a special spirit you can sooner than expected".
"So instead of come (back) mid-May you can come beginning of May".
