He says that Sathyaraj's alleged comments were not an issue all these years, and that several of the actor's films including Baahubali have released in the state in the past. Hence there is no problem in TN regarding the release on 28th April.

A video of actor Satyaraj abusing Kannadigas during the Cauvery water protests went viral as the move neared release and pro-Kannada organisations have demanded that he tender an unconditional apology for his statements. To protest the screening, the group said that it wouldn't allow releasing the film under any circumstances until Sathyaraj apologises for his anti-Kannadiga remarks. We were not aware of this issue until a month ago till we saw a video on social media. He had called us dogs during the Cauvery issue.

Recently, Rajamouli and the makers of "Baahubali 2" rushed to Bengaluru to resolve the issue. We don't have a problem with any regional language film running in Karnataka theatres, and neither do we want to offend anyone from Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. Why the pro-Kannada elements are raking it up now after Baahubali: The Beginning and many other Tamil films starring Sathyaraj had a smooth release in Karnataka is unclear.

Some activists have even announced a protest in front of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce in an attempt to seek a ban on screening all Tamil films until Sathyaraj makes an apology. And after that, about 30 films of his were released in Karnataka.

Jayakumar also said a committee will be formed to run the party when queried about the General Secretary's position. The ruling faction then made a decision to move on with discussions of a merger between the two rival factions.

As of Thursday, the protest against the release of Baahubali 2 continues in the city.

The upcoming South Indian magnum opus "Baahubali 2", which is the sequel to the 2015 film, "Baahubali" is being targeted by pro-Kannada organisations in Karnataka over negative comments made by cast member Sathyaraj. He is not the writer or producer or the hero. It is the only state where all three versions (Telugu, Hindi and Tamil) of the film will be released. He is just a supporting actor. "I feel it's my responsibility to give out a clarification in the issue".

"If his ego is so huge that he does not want to apologise, then let them change the actor in the film". We think it is not right to punish so many people for one person's comments and turn the anger on an individual towards Baahubali 2.
