Apple has tie-ups with companies like Medtronic and Dexcom who sell iPhone-related health accessories and the company has recently started hiring a group of dedicated biomedical engineers to develop advanced sensors that can monitor blood sugar levels non-invasively.

"According to our source, Apple's sights are now set on the epidemic of diabetes, and the company plans to introduce a game-changing glucose monitoring feature in an upcoming Apple Watch", BGR wrote in its report.

Cook was earlier spotted wearing a similar device during his recent visit to the University of Glasgow, wherein he had explained to the students why he was wearing the medical device connected to his Apple Watch.

The Watch now tracks the wearer's heart rate and movement, but it is no secret that Apple wants to take larger steps into the medical technology industry. The current glucose trackers on the market rely on tiny sensors and rumours suggests that the company is already conducting feasibility trials in the Bay Area. So says a story by CNBC which cited sources who have seen Apple's CEO using the gadget at Apple's campus.

Laptop ban in Europe could cost airline passengers $1 billion
The International Air Transport Association, or IATA, which represents 265 airlines, wrote to both the European Union and the U.S. With the USA pushing to expand the ban, and other groups suggesting it should be rolled back, we may be at a tipping point.

It's likely that any non-invasive glucose monitoring hardware would comprise of one or more sensors that could be built into a product like the Apple Watch or even sit as a standalone device. "Very excited." Just a couple days ago another report claimed that Apple is planning to update its Apple Watch with glucose monitoring capabilities for diabetics and smart bands that add additional functionality. This has, in turn, enabled him to make slight modifications to adopt a new modified eating regime to maintain the level of sugar in his blood.

Speaking in February, Cook said: "It's mentally anguishing to stick yourself many times a day to check your blood sugar".

Apple are also expected to launch a range of other watch straps for the Apple Watch that will have other functions, for example a camera and more.
