Did Trump Ask FBI to End Investigation Into Flynn?

President Donald Trump's transition team was told weeks before his inauguration that Michael Flynn was under federal investigation for secretly working as a paid lobbyist for the Turkish government. The "memoranda, notes, summaries, and recordings" the House demanded to see first-hand will answer "questions as to whether the president attempted to influence or impede" the FBI, Chafettz said in the letter.

And this makes possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation all the more believable - as if the firing of FBI Director James Comey, who was directing an investigation into those ties, hadn't already taken us there. "He is a good guy".

The memo would be the clearest proof to date that the President has tried to influence the investigation into his campaign's alleged ties to Russian Federation. The report quoted former and current United States officials saying, "The information the president relayed had been provided by a USA partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government".

On Tuesday, the New York Times reported Trump asked Comey to shut down an investigation into Flynn.

It is the latest controversy to embroil the White House, which also has been dealing with the fallout over reports suggesting that Trump divulged sensitive information during a meeting with Russian officials last week.

The White House has denied those reports, but Trump's aides have been caught in so many conflicting statements as they tried to explain the Comey firing, the denials did nothing to tamp down the outrage.

The New York Times has reported that James Comey made notes on the conversation with the president as part of a paper trail aimed to document perceived pressure from Trump.

A new report could bring more potential trouble for President Trump. "The president has the utmost respect for our law enforcement agencies, and all investigations".

Mr Flynn resigned the day before the February 14 Oval Office meeting, after it was revealed he apparently had lied about the nature of his contacts with Russia's ambassador.

Leader of the opposition, the top Democrat in the Senate Chuck Schumer, said he was "shaken" by the allegation and added that "history is watching".
