Fallon Won't Attack Trump Supporters: They 'Watch My Show'

Jimmy Fallon was 'devastated' about the negative reaction to his interview with Trump last year

The Tonight Show airs weeknights at 11:30pm ET on NBC. He took the baton directly from Johnny Carson, the man whose very name is synonymous with late night excellence.

Leno added that he's not a fan of the continued pummeling of Trump by comedians. Here's betting they won't, at least this time around.

As Fallon tells The New York Times, he was devastated in the days afterward during the enormous negative response, and he regrets never addressing it on the air.

The "Late Show" host's controversial "cockholster" joke about Trump's relationship with Putin made in his May 4 monologue appears to have had no effect on his ratings, even after a social media call to "Fire Colbert".

At different points, Fallon deflects blame from himself by arguing that he is just following his audience: "People that voted for Trump watch my show as well". That happened to Stephen Colbert recently. So Fallon is ready to acknowledge people were upset by the interview.but he is unwilling to do the work of self-examination. In fact, just the opposite.

The negative feedback to the segment was widespread and Fallon said he spent time online reading the responses. Carson famously played it down the middle, politically speaking. "I don't want to be bullied into not being me, and not doing what I think is amusing", he said.

Space Weather Events Linked To High-Altitude Nuclear Tests
Since VLF radio waves are very good at penetrating 40 meters or more into saltwater, they're ideal for submarine communications. Data showed that the Van Allen belts have moved further away from Earth since the 1960s, when the VLF use was limited.

"I didn't talk about it, and I should have talked about it", he told the Times. 'But this constant pounding does have a tendency to anesthetize your feelings'.

In the New York Times, Jimmy said he doesn't have a problem, and he would never be able to drink every night while having a day job, because that would be like "kicking you when you're down".

Pop culture critics and hard news reporters disagree. "The good news for Trump is that he has been named employee of the month by Russian Federation!" So, following the Trump hair ruffle, and posts started to hit Twitter, Fallon was devastated.

Fallon isn't the only entertainer reflecting on his relationship with Trump. The Trump interview was a ideal illustration of the awkward position African Americans are forced into when they are confronted with flesh-and-blood racists. And yet they collectively can't see the big picture.

"Jack Paar would spend 90 minutes with Noël Coward, and Johnny did Art Fern".

Yet Carson thrived for decades, becoming a comedy institution in the process. He's clearly decided that he's more concerned about staying in the good graces of Trump supporters than of those who'd vocally criticize them, and as long as that's how he feels, some of that criticism is going to come his way, too.
