Cyclists from all over the globe will start the stage along the oceanfront Cabrillo Boulevard at 11:30 a.m.

Other cities to host the Tour's 1,000-person entourage include South Lake Tahoe to begin the Women's race, then over to Sacramento where the men start.

The Santa Barbara route was one of the numerous panoramic sections along the course during the seven-stage cycling competition.

American rider Evan Huffman won from a five-man breakaway that barely survived a hard-chasing peloton to win the fourth stage of the Tour of California on Wednesday.

BATHURST cyclist Mark Renshaw wasn't among the winning hopes towards the end of Wednesday's stage three at the Tour of California.

Sagan, the 2015 Tour of California victor, bided his time in the peloton before accelerating through traffic in the final half-mile to win the gruelling 119.6-mile (192.5-kilometer) stage, which had begun in Pismo Beach. Tomorrow's stage 5 is the race's queen stage, a 125.5km effort that finishes with the long and steep climb up Mt. Baldy. "One of our favorite trips is following the tour".

The Tour de France-style race, which features some of the top cyclists in the world, is organized by L.A. -based live entertainment company AEG and is sponsored by several big brands, including Lexus and Tag Heuer. This year's race will include 16 star-studded teams, half of which are US -based.

Pole Rafal Majka fought strong headwinds and a late push by New Zealand's George Bennett to win a hilly stage two and earn the yellow jersey at the Tour of California on Monday.
