James Harden himself can't explain his bad performance in Rockets' loss

Harden vows to make Rockets better after elimination

The Golden State Warriors play host to the San Antonio Spurs at the Oracle Arena in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

Leading the series 3-2 heading into game six May 11, the Spurs are trying to hold it together so they can move on to the Western Conference Finals where the Warriors are waiting.

At 47 years old, Brown is almost 20 years younger than the 68-year-old Popovich, but I don't know if he should take Pop so lightly. Playing by far his most minutes (31:36) in the postseason, Ginobili looked more than up to the challenge, contributing to his team's big win with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

As heavily favoured as the Warriors are, the Spurs have proven they're capable of at least making the road more challenging for the team from the Bay. They were not the first place team of the Western Conference, but they still had a good view.

The Spurs did just eliminate the No. 2-ranked offense in the league in beating the Rockets, and Popovich slowed down Houston's attack after allowing 126 points to them in a Game 1 loss.

He finished with 18 points, and also defended James Harden, who had a nightmare game to finish with 10 points and made just two of his 11 shots from the floor before he fouled out with 3min 15sec left.

The presence of Aldridge and Pau Gasol in the paint, and the constantly quick rotation of the Spurs defense on the perimeter, bothered Houston all night.

Thomas eager to write new chapter in book of Isaiah
Marcin Gortat struggled to chase him outside, and somehow even Markieff Morris couldn't hold him down in the post. His fourth quarter performance earned a standing ovation as he was subbed out with just over a minute to play.

Nothing, perhaps, from the Golden State side. "We know that they're very capable and that system is as strong as it's been".

San Antonio will have to try to keep pace from the tip.

However, the Golden State Warriors went from being a 73-9 team and being one game away from winning a second NBA Finals to being even better, if that was even possible to many. Without his physical presence, Aldridge went to work, scoring 10 points in the first quarter as the Spurs jumped to a 31-24 lead. The result was a national dialogue about uninjured NBA players resting and a 107-85 runaway by the Spurs, who were without LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker and Leonard.

James Harden of the Houston Rockets had emerged this past season as not only an National Basketball Association superstar, but one of the elite players and one of faces of the league - especially with his signature fluffy beard. The concussion theory has become a popular internet talking point with Harden zombie walking his way through Game 6. The Rockets' 75 points was the second-lowest in a game since Harden joined them in 2012. "It's frustrating the way that we lost, especially how good of a year we had as a team, with a new coaching staff and some new key pieces to our team".

With this highly-anticipated game just around the corner, experts are starting to give their picks.

Asked if Harden was injured, D'Antoni said, "He's been battling that cold, but nothing I know of".
