Microsoft says NSA to blame for Wannacry

Microsoft has responded to the news that the "ransomware" virus dubbed WannaCry locked up more than 200,000 computers around the world.

An promotional video plays behind a window reflecting a nearby building at the Microsoft office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S. May 15, 2017.

Trustlook, a next-generation cybersecurity company, has released a free scanner and vaccine toolkit to help protect Windows computers that are either vulnerable to, or have been infected with, the unsafe strain of ransomware known as WannaCry.

Lastly there are, of course, the attackers, who kidnapped precious data and demanded ransom be paid. Today Chinese media condemned the United States for delaying struggles to halt global cyber intimidations in the stir of the WannaCry ransomware bout. "That's liability to individuals, consumers and patients". In 2016, thousands of computers in 42 separate NHS trusts in England were reported to be still running on Windows XP.

Malware cases have been spreading in recent years as the malicious software trend has been gaining ground, with new forms of ransomware hitting the scene.

Microsoft has issued an advisory while releasing a patch for Windows XP.

Microsoft said it had released a Windows security update in March to tackle the problem involved in the latest attack, but many users were yet to run it. LinkedIn settled for $1.25 million in 2014.

Swedish prosecutor drops Assange rape probe
The panel found that Britain and Sweden had " arbitrarily detained " Mr Assange. Assange has been holed up at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London since 2012.

Above-mentioned units are asked to closely watch out and prevent WannaCry from connecting to the servers as well as update the protection systems such as IDS/IPS, Firewall.

The cyber-attack has disrupted NHS services in parts of England and Scotland since Friday afternoon.

"It isn't clear that there has been a harm to consumers", he said. Despite the situation, Microsoft brand is likely to emerge without serious damage according to an expert at the tech industry.

"Clearly having the vulnerability be in Microsoft software was one of the key elements", said Steve Grobman, chief technology officer of McAfee, a security company in Santa Clara, California. Courts have consistently upheld those agreements, he said.

It's hard to blame Microsoft, Litan said, since it issued fixes and generally did what it should.

"This area of law has been stunted in its growth", he said.

An exploit discovered and built upon by the USA's National Security Agency called EternalBlue was leaked by a group called the Shadow Brokers earlier this year. They used "Eternal Blue", a hacking developed by NSA collect cyber weapons and vulnerabilities in popular operating systems and software so they can use them to carry out intelligence gathering or engage in cyber warfare as per Edward Snowden, a former Central Intelligence Agency Employee. The NSA did not immediately return a request for comment.
