Ousted Trump National Security Adviser at Center of Russia Probe

Flynn told President Trump's transition team weeks before the inauguration that he was under federal investigation for secretly working as a paid lobbyist for Turkey during the campaign, according to two people familiar with the case. "That conversation, and another one two days later between Mr. Flynn's lawyer and transition lawyers, shows that the Trump team knew about the investigation of Mr. Flynn far earlier than has been previously reported", it said.

Flynn was sacked after just 24 days on the job after it was revealed he discussed sanctions against Russian Federation with its ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak, before Trump's inauguration and then repeatedly lied about doing so.

That lunch between Flynn and his "loyalists" happened on the same day that Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Rep. Elijah Cummings revealed that Flynn did not disclose $45,000 that he received from the Russian government for giving a speech in Moscow in 2015 when he filled out a security clearance to work in the White House.

A decorated retired general, Flynn during the Barack Obama adminstration was ousted as the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The controversy surrounding former national security adviser Michael Flynn has engulfed President Donald Trump's White House.

The newspaper claims Flynn's company signed a $600,000 deal with Inovo in August a year ago to "run an influence campaign aimed at discrediting Fethullah Gulen".

The source also said Pence was not consulted about the decision to bring on Flynn as the National Security Adviser in November.

ICJ verdict in Kulbhushan case today
The ICJ has said that the death sentence of Kulbhushan must be stopped until the final verdict announced by the court. An eleven-judge bench of ICJ ruled that execution of Jadhav should not be allowed until it has disposed the case.

In March, Flynn retroactively registered as a foreign agent with the Justice Department for his work for a company owned by a Turkish businessman that his lawyer said "could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey". Sally Yates, an Obama-holdover who served as Acting Attorney General for the first ten days of the Trump administration, told Congress she warned McGahn that Flynn has been compromised by Russian Federation, and was subject to blackmail.

Flynn hired a lawyer a few weeks later.

It took Trump 18 days after that Yates-McGahn meeting to fire Flynn.

Kelner then followed up with another call to the Trump transition's legal team. It took ten whole hours for Trump to throw a tantrum (possibly at the urging of Jared Kushner), and meanwhile, lots of news on Michael Flynn is suddenly pouring forth, which begs the question of whether Flynn's strategically opening the floodgates because he knows that a sinking ship can't save him. While the GOP national security establishment lined up against Trump, Flynn advised his campaign on how to improve its foreign policy message and touted that message on cable news. General told a group of friends and supporters at a restaurant in Virginia on 25 April, according to unnamed sources close to General Flynn.

Yates had warned the White House Flynn had lied to Vice President Mike Pence on discussing sanctions with the Russian ambassador, and Pence subsequently made public statements repeating those untruths.
