Rocker Chris Cornell Dead At 52

Seattle-born Cornell was the lead singer of Soundgarden, one of the leading bands in the grunge music movement in the '80s and '90s.

Rep Brian Bumbery called the death "sudden and unexpected" and said Cornell's wife and family were shocked by it.

Update: The Associated Press confirms that a medical examiner declared Cornell's death a suicide, though a "full autopsy report was not yet completed Thursday afternoon". The group formed in 1990 and released one album in tribute to Andrew Wood, the lead singer of Mother Love Bone, who died of a heroin overdose that year.

Soundgarden was slated to be among the headliners at this weekend's Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio.

The singer died in Detroit where the band performed on May 17. Sadly the band broke up in 2007, but they got back together 10 years later for a show this past January in direct protest of the presidency of Donald Trump. He was also the singer of the rock supergroup Audioslave, formed in 2001, which included members of Rage Against the Machine. The band tweeted Wednesday night a quote from Cornell: "What I look forward to the most...is the camaraderie". With members of fellow 90s giants Pearl Jam, Cornell released an album under the guise of Temple of the Dog, featuring the grunge staple "Hunger Strike", in 1991. As news of Cornell's death began to circulate, there were indications that he was happy and pleasant before his death.

White House knew sacked adviser was under investigation
Comey said he replied that "I agree he is a good guy" but said nothing to Trump about limiting the investigation. The House eventually passed it by a whisker, but the controversial act faces a tough battle in the Senate.

"We had bands that were influenced by each other, " Cornell told The New York Times previous year. "He seemed to be genuinely excited to be performing in Detroit", the concertgoer said.

Cornell also released four solo studio albums and a solo live album. Cornell also has a daughter, Lillian Jean, from his first marriage to Susan Silver, which ended in divorce in 2004.

He eventually became a Grammy victor with Soundgarden, formed in 1984 and coming out of the rapidly growing Seattle music scene, which included Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. However, in this sad moment, it might help fans to reflect on the music he left behind, and, more specifically, on one of his most underrated songs, the Casino Royale theme song "You Know My Name".

The 52-year-old Cornell was on tour and performed Wednesday night in Detroit with Soundgarden.

His first solo album, 1999's "Euphoria Morning", was a dark album that was initially supposed to be titled "Euphoria Mourning".
