Senate Judiciary Committee Wants FBI's Comey Memos

"Speaker Ryan has shown he has zero, zero, zero appetite for any investigation of President Trump", Cummings said.

The bipartisan leadership of the Senate Judiciary Committee have asked the FBI for all memos related to interactions between former FBI Director David Comey and his superiors in both the Trump and Obama Administrations and for any tapes the White House may have of such interactions.

He added that "everybody in this country gets a fair trial, [whether] it's the president or anyone else".

Amash is the first Republican lawmaker to raise the specter of impeachment. However, he has been a consistent critic of Trump, as well as an opponent of House Republican leadership, and his views are not widely representative.

"Officially noticed a hearing for next Wednesday at 9:30am ET with former FBI Dir Comey".

The memo could border on "the legal definition of obstruction of justice", he said. Trump reportedly asked Comey, who was overseeing the investigation into Flynn, to "let it go", raising questions about why Trump later suddenly fired Comey as the investigation continued. "It is obvious that there are some people out there who want to harm the president".

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Republican chairman of the House oversight committee, sent a letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday requesting that it turn over all documents and recordings that detail communications between Comey and Trump.

Offering advice to the new recruits in CT on the day he faced calls to be impeached over his handling of the sacking of Mr Comey and his relationship with Russian Federation, he told them to "put your head down and fight, fight, fight".

We are writing to request that the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee launch an immediate joint investigation into whether President Donald Trump and his top officials are engaged in an ongoing conspiracy to obstruct the criminal, counter-intelligence, and oversight investigations now being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice, and Congress into members of his presidential campaign and their contacts with Russian officials.

Why did Trump want a private conversation with Comey?
