Seven Qualify for NCAA Track Prelims

Josh Cogdill and Hunter Price from the Colorado State track & field team have qualified for the decathlon at the NCAA Championships, while 27 Colorado State athletes have qualified for next week's NCAA West Preliminary in Austin, Texas.

It will be the fourth trip for Krzyszkowski in javelin, the second for Feivor (5,000 meters in 2015) and the first for both Armstrong and Parker. At the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, competitors in individual events will be pared from 48 to 24 in the first round and then down to 12 in the second round. The top 12 finishers in those respective events at the NCAA West Preliminary will advance to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which is held from Wednesday, June 7 through Saturday, June 10 in Eugene, Ore.

In the 100- and 200-meter events, Tatenda Tsumba holds the No. 11 spot.

A week after competing at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championship, three University of North Dakota student-athletes officially learned today that their season would continue.

Phelan teamed up with Morrissey, Sereno and Harrison at the indoor national meet in March to earn first team All-America honors with a fifth-place distance medley relay performance. She also ran on the 4x1500 meter relay and helped the Wildcats win a Penn Relays title in the race for the second straight year.
