Tom Hardy Is Starring In The 'Spider-Man' Spinoff Movie 'Venom'

In the comics, Bane uses a drug called the venom serum to enhance his strength, making us wonder if they had this planned all along! Ruben Fleischer will direct the film, which now has an October 5, 2018, release date.

Plot details for the film are being kept tightly under wraps, but Hardy is confirmed to be playing Eddie Brock, the character who first became Venom.

'Venom', the solo film for one of Spider-Man's iconic villains, is beginning to pick up some steam.

UK police say Assange still faces arrest
In a separate statement , the prosecutor noted that in Sweden a criminal investigation has to be conducted as quickly as possible. He could face trial in the United States over leaking hundreds of thousands of secret USA military and diplomatic documents.

Tom Hardy played Bane in WB's The Dark Knight, and ever since then has been reportedly offered numerous super hero roles.

With Spider-Man enjoying a successful big screen career in the MCU, #SonyPictures is working hard on kickstarting its very own Spider-Man-inspired cinematic universe. So, clearly there's some animosity there. The actor has signed on to star in the "Spider-Man" spinoff featuring the classic villain. Sony is rebooting its Marvel-based slate with this summer's Spider-Man: Homecoming and Venom is a key title in its slate. Fury Road's Tom Hardy is set to lead the project, while Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer will direct. In the Marvel Comics universe, Venom has appeared alongside Spider-Man, Iron Man, Deadpool, Hulk, and many other Marvel Comics characters. He was played by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 3". Hopefully, it won't be an issue and this version of Venom (with a script co-written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner), will keep its Spidey mythos intact in some, even minor, way. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing along with Amy Pascal, with Palak Patel and Eric Fineman overseeing for Columbia Pictures. The studio's first step to make that a reality comes through the #Venom film a project that, after, nearly a decade of being in development, is finally moving forward.
