Trump knew of Flynn's contacts with Russian Federation prior to his appointment

During that telephone chat, they talked about sanctions that President Barack Obama had imposed on Russian Federation as punishment for the Kremlin's meddling in our presidential election.

What does Flynn's Russian Federation connection reveal about the greater Trump campaign's links to our longtime adversary? Flynn had denied discussing with Kislyak the subject of United States sanctions on Russian Federation for the November election interference, but high-ranking Federal Bureau of Investigation and DOJ officials had recorded conversations between Kislyak and Flynn.

Democrats criticize Trump for not firing Flynn until February 13 - the day the Washington Post published a story that reported that, contrary to Pence's assertion, Flynn discussed sanctions with Kislyak.

Yates told the hearing she had been concerned that "the national security adviser essentially could be blackmailed by the Russians".

"The Russia-Trump collusion story is a total hoax, when will this taxpayer funded charade end?" fumed one post, while in a second the president targeted Yates - claiming she had "said nothing but old news!" after earlier assailing her for allegedly leaking classified information. She said no to both.

On the morning of January 26, acting Attorney General Sally Yates called White House counsel Don McGahn with a matter so sensitive it couldn't be discussed by phone.

Yates had two in-person meetings and a phone call with White House counsel Don McGahn on January 26 and January 27, respectively. The House and the Senate are also investigating whether there was any collusion between members of Mr Trump's team and Russian Federation.

Netanyahu Denies Asking Trump Not to Move Embassy
It later annexed East Jerusalem , and in 1980, Israel unilaterally declared "reunited" Jerusalem as its capital. Former US presidents have repeatedly waived a US law requiring the embassy be moved to Jerusalem .

Ms Yates was sacked by Mr Trump after refusing to enforce the president's controversial travel ban on people from a number of majority Muslim countries.

In 2016, Clapper testified, 1,934 Americans were "unmasked".

After those skeptical questions, Trump took no visible action against Flynn until a public outcry forced him to.

Prior to her testimony, former Obama administration officials told multiple media outlets that President Obama directly warned President-elect Trump against hiring Flynn during their face-to-face meeting in November.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer, confirming media reports of Obama's warning to Trump, said it was no secret that Obama "wasn't exactly a fan" of Flynn and questioned why Flynn was not stripped of his security clearance. Flynn served under Obama as defense intelligence chief before Obama dismissed him from that post. He opened the hearing with an implicit rebuke of President Donald Trump and his alternative explanations for the interference in the election.

Yates appeared once again in the face of the Trump administration when she testified at a Monday hearing created to explore any collusion between the Trump administration and Russian Federation.

Obama fired Flynn in 2014 because of his disruptive management style, and personally warned Trump against naming Flynn as national security adviser.
