CNN Producer Fesses Up: We're Just Doing The Russia Stuff For Ratings

While promoting their new video release, Project Veritas labeled CNN "American Pravda", quoting CNN producer John Bonifield, who was caught on tape admitting how Trump has been "good for business" as the there is "no real proof" on the Russian Federation scandal, but it's a business.

That drew a quick retort from Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity, an ardent Trump backer.

Project Veritas, James O'Keefe's project, has video of a senior CNN producer admitting that his network's relentless coverage of the alleged Trump-Russia scandal lacked substance. "Those are the facts".

The story, which reported that Congress was investigating a "Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials", cited a single anonymous source.

Early Monday morning, the veteran reporters and editors-Thomas Frank, Lex Haris and Eric Lichtblau-submitted their resignations.

She said the "constant barrage of fake news" at the president has frustrated Trump. What about all the other phony stories they do?

But the White House has credibility issues of its own.

A spokesperson for CNN did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Sanders lauded the video, which apparently shows John Bonifield, a CNN health editor, complaining about the network's coverage of the Trump campaign's relationship with Russian Federation.

CNN's Jim Acosta gets into nearly daily skirmishes with White House press secretary Sean Spicer over questions about the administration's transparency.

Donald Trump Jr.is calling for CNN President Jeff Zucker to explain the retracted story.

He then went on to assume that things were "settled" because three CNN employees resigned and Scaramucci accepted the network's apology and said he was "moving on". "You're very kind and very understanding", Mr. Trump said.

CNN's reply: "CNN just posted it's most-watched second quarter in history". It was retracted the next night, and CNN apologized to Anthony Scaramucci, the Trump transition team member named in the story.

When asked if he thought the Russian Federation collusion story was legitimate or all hype, Bonifield said it's "mostly bullsh-t right now". Creamer's firm recently sued Project Veritas alleging the sting violated federal wiretap law.

A source close to CNN told BuzzFeed the incident was a "massive, massive f- up and people will be disciplined". "They're looking for something more, and I think they deserve something better from our news media".

One social media exchange about the CNN story indicated how feelings about the network were running strong among Trump supporters.
