Congress leader recommends Guinness Record for Shiv Sena for issuing most threats

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray

The taunt came a day after BJP president Amit Shah met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to discuss next month's presidential polls.

Amit Shah is expected to mollify Thackeray and ensure his support for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate in the upcoming presidential election. According to a source in the Shiv Sena, Shah told Thackeray that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would decide the NDA's candidate for the highest constitutional post.

The oldest and most prominent ally of the BJP, Thackeray told Shah on Sunday that his party would take a decision only after the BJP's Presidential nominee was named. The Sena's first preference was RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. After Bhagwat ruled himself out, it pitched scientist MS Swaminathan.

All eyes are on Sena's support as it has embarrassed the BJP in the previous two Presidential elections by backing the rival candidate.

Uddhav also expressed his views on the farmer loan waiver, saying that the government should not insist on tough parameters while giving relief to farmers. "But, if the situation arises, we will not run away from the battleground and contest the election and win it".

No support if Centre nominated 'Dalit' face for vote bank: Shiv Sena
Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande said that Nitesh was a child in politics and he is just utilizing his father's name for getting publicity.

Speaking at an "opinion-makers meet" attended by with a select group of city residents from various sectors on Sunday, Mr. Shah said his party has been pro-free trade and free agriculture policy since inception.

"But instead of mid-term poll results, we are anxious about what will happen in Kashmir and in violence-hit Darjeeling", the Sena said in an editorial in party mouthpiece "Saamana". BJP ally Shiv Sena, though, has objected to it. "We will openly support". "Ramnath has risen through the political ranks, waging a long and hard struggle as a Dalit", said Shah. Shah urged Sena to offer support to presidential candidate.

"The fact that only four leaders were involved in the meeting indicates that they call the shots in the Sena and BJP".

He said political parties had been informed of the NDA's choice.

Ahead of the much-anticipated face-off between India and Pakistan in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, the BJP chief categorically stated that India and Pakistan will not feature in any bilateral cricket series but would continue to participate in global tournaments.
