"The way Jones sees it, shadowy groups within the USA government orchestrated - or at least refrained from preventing - the 9/11 attacks, the Boston Marathon massacre, the bombing of Oklahoma City's Murrah federal building, and the mass shootings in Aurora, Colo., and at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in CT", the Southern Poverty Law Center explained.

Megyn Kelly has defended the decision to conduct and air the interview, while also slamming Jones' hoax claims of the Sandy Hook shooting.

Bridgeport lawyer Josh Koskoff, who represents the families of several victims, said in a letter to the network, " Ms. Kelly's interview implicitly endorses the notion that Mr. Jones" lies are actually "claims' that are worthy of serious debate; and in doing so it exponentially enhances the suffering and distress of our clients".

Connecticut's NBC affiliate says it's not going to air Megyn Kelly's report on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the radio host who has alleged the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was a hoax. With the upcoming interview airing on Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly, WVIT NBC Connecticut will make sure to give voice to those most affected by the tragedy, and most impacted by the interview. The memo says the executives "considered the deep emotions from the wounds of that day that have yet to heal".

Blues protect 11 players for upcoming Expansion Draft
Along with Fleury, other goalies exposed are Florida's Roberto Luongo , Detroit's Petr Mrazek and Philadelphia's Michal Neuvirth . Each team had the option to protect either seven forwards , three defensemen , and a goalie , or eight skaters and a goalie .

NBC News vows to go ahead with Sunday's program.

Kelly later took to Twitter to defend the situation, writing that she finds Jones' suggestion that Sandy Hook was a hoax "as personally revolting as every other rational person".

Over the last week, Kelly - a former Fox News anchor and current host of NBC's Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly - has been promoting her upcoming interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

The story quotes a statement today from NBC News in which it reasserts its intention to air the report despite Jones' "efforts to distract and ultimately prevent" the broadcast.

Jones' website, Infowars.com, touted the availability of the unedited interview, but it was not online as of Friday morning.
