Cosby jury to return on Friday to try to break deadlock

Mr Cosby, 79, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia-area home in 2004.

"I have no ability to do anything other than what I've done in this case", O'Neill told Cosby's lawyer, Brian McMonagle.

But Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill asked the jury to resume deliberations to try to reach a unanimous decision.

If the Judge's so-called dynamite charge doesn't unlock the hold-out (s), then in what will essentially be a stay for Cosby and a blow to the prosecution, this could mean that this case is going to start up all over again but with a new jury.

The third count accuses Cosby of impairing Constand "by administering drugs, intoxicants or other means for the objective of preventing resistance".

O'Neill asked the jurors to try to deliberate some more after hearing of the impasse.

O'Neill told the defense that until the jury says it is still deadlocked, there was little he could do but provide them with any evidence they request.

During the past week of testimony, prosecutors called 12 witnesses and presented nearly no forensic evidence. But, he said, that scenario does not describe the Cosby case, which instead is "he-said-she-said".

At this point, the jury could come back with a partial verdict or no verdict on any of the three felony indecent sexual-assault charges Cosby faces.

Andrea isn't the only woman allegedly victimized by Bill Cosby.

Constand's lawyer, Dolores Troiani, told reporters that Jackson is "not telling the truth" and faulted Wyatt for circulating Jackson's statement while jurors were deliberating.

"This is not a vindication of anybody", she said. They wanted to know what is "reasonable doubt".

Lili Bernard, another alleged Cosby sexual assault survivor, clashed with Cosby supporters outside the courthouse Thursday afternoon.

In it, he claimed Constand showed no ill effects from the 1 1/2 Benadryl pills he gave her to help her relax, and that she never objected to his behavior during the 2004 encounter at his suburban Philadelphia home.

The portion of Constand's seven hours of trial testimony during which she talked about the night she says Cosby drugged and sexually violated her.

They will get back to it Friday morning.

As the rhythmic drumming continued, Victoria Valentino, a former Playboy bunny from the 1960s who says Cosby assaulted her decades ago, danced to the music on the courthouse steps. Legal experts also pointed out that sometimes juries do come back with a verdict on at least some counts after being ordered by the court to continue working.

From the man who brought his favorite comfy chair to sit in as he waited for the verdict, to the man who shouts out "Hey! Hey!"

Each of the counts against Cosby carries a maximum 10-year prison term, though the counts could be merged at sentencing if he is convicted.

"They're conflicted about the inconsistencies in Ms. Constand's testimony", spokesman Andrew Wyatt said.
