This was followed by more hugs and handshakes while seeing Modi off at the end of a four-hour interaction and working dinner, the first Trump has offered at the White House for a visiting leader since becoming President on January 20. The US' first couple warmly welcomed Modi and they were seen exchanging pleasantries and having a brief interaction before going inside the White House.

"The Netherlands is a key partner to help India achieve its goals", he said. "Congratulations to India on their 70th year of Independence".

"The economic changes in both countries are creating new demands and once you have the high-level comfort between India and the USA, the other partner is well placed to meet those demands", Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar told reporters after Modi held his maiden meeting with Trump here at the White House. "Reflecting the partnership, the USA has offered for India's consideration the sale of Sea Guardian Unmanned Aerial Systems, which would enhance India's capabilities and promote shared security interests", the joint statement said.

The US President said he would like a trading relationship that is "fair and reciprocal". India and the U.S. also urged Pakistan to ensure that its territory is not used to launch cross-border terror strikes.

"We want to take our strategic partnership to new heights", Mr. Modi declared.

Modi also had an interaction with CEOs of Dutch companies.

He sought more jobs to be created in the United States and asked India to remove trade barriers to encourage the export of USA goods into their markets, and help US reduce the trade deficit, which means more concessions from India on American trading companies.

Their level of concern reached the point where they chose to hire an acting coach midway through production to work with him. The video says: "According to our source, Han's history with Jabba will play out and Jabba will be appearing in this film".

Heaping praises on Prime Minister Modi, Trump said that he had been reading a lot about him and that he would want to congratulate him for the exemplary leadership he has shown, primarily, economically. "We will continue our struggle against the fascist policies of the Modi government, especially the atrocities against the people of Kashmir", he added.

Jaishankar cited the civil aviation market and natural gas as areas of cooperation and added that from the next year the Liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the U.S. will start flowing to India. The expert said Trump is not showing much interst in maintaining its alliance in the area.

Neither leader spoke of two issues dividing the two countries, namely climate change and a USA visa program for high-tech immigrants that Trump would like to cut or reduce. "The future of our partnership has never looked brighter", Trump said as both leaders underscored the importance of the defence and security relationship.

Modi gave Trump a bear hug during their joint appearance before then showering praise on the USA leader.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed his Indian counterpart's visit to Israel last Sunday during his opening remarks at the weekly cabinet meeting as a "very significant step" in strengthening bilateral relations that are on a "constant upswing". "We held talks on the wide range of issues pertaining to India-US relationships". "Trying to get the price up a little bit", he said.

Modi said the two countries had agreed to increase cooperation to tackle increasing radicalisation, extremism and terrorism. We hope we're going to be catching you very soon in terms of percentage increase, I have to tell you that.
