Trump lawyer defends his use of social media

"The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt", Trump tweeted on Sunday.

SEKULOW: Well, look, I - I can't imagine the scenario where the president would - would not be aware of it.

Is President Trump under investigation for obstruction of justice? We have not received nor are we aware of any investigation of the president of the United States. In those meetings, Comey said that the President had demanded loyalty and on 14 February 2017 told Comey that he hoped he could "let go" of the investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who Trump fired in February.

Sekulow was referring to a report in the Post this week that said Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian interference in November's presidential election was now also trying to determine whether Trump obstructed justice. "So that's the constitutional threshold question here", Sekulow said.

The Trump team's style makes for a study in contrasts when compared to the seasoned group of prosecutors and criminal law experts working under Robert Mueller, the tight-lipped, respected ex-FBI director.

Sekulow claimed the president is not spending a lot of time composing the tweets, but defended them as a means of speaking directly to voters, saying "he's responding to what he's seeing in the media in a way in which he thinks is appropriate to talk to those people that put him in office". "The fact of the matter is the President has not been and is not under investigation". But two avenues appear clear so far: The lawyers are prepared to paint Mueller's investigative team as somehow politically motivated, or too aligned with the interests of fired FBI Director James Comey; and they will argue the president didn't illegally exert pressure on the investigation. "Ah-hah!" they squealed, Trump has confirmed that he is under investigation.

The anchor continued, "The idea that Mueller wouldn't be looking at the circumstances surrounding the firing of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation defies common sense".

Dan Snyder 'Thrilled' with Supreme Court decision that benefits Redskins
The cancelations were made at the request of Native American activists, who said the name was disparaging to Native Americans. With the Supreme Court's decision, legal analysts expect the Redskins will eventually get their trademark back.

Jamie Gorelick, Kushner's current lawyer, works at WilmerHale - the same firm Mueller worked at before Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller as special counsel.

Trump essentially confessed that he fired Comey in order to forestall the Russian Federation investigation, telling NBC News interviewer Lester Holt in nationally televised broadcast that "this Russian Federation thing" was among his motivations for firing Comey. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., says the best thing for everyone will be for the investigation to run its course. He must convince the entire world that the story printed in The Washington Post that alleges Donald Trump is under investigation for obstruction of justice is false, all while the half-wit that he's representing is tweeting shit like this.

However, Sekulow has said that the tweet was the President's response to a media article about the non- existent investigation, a direct critique of the lack of authentic sources for the news that was published. Some other people who know precisely how politicized the legal system has become, and like it that way, will exploit the fact that you are under investigation to stigmatize you.

Rubio, who also appeared on CBS, said "that's not going to happen" when asked whether he's concerned that Trump may be preparing to fire Mueller and Rosenstein.

The Senate Intelligence Committee say it's only about 20 percent into its investigation.

The bipartisan measure, approved 98-2, now awaits action by the House.

Consider Trump's response to James Comey's dramatic Senate testimony.
