A "person with firsthand knowledge" of the confession has since come forward and told The Associated Press that DiNardo killed them each separately after selling them marijuana and subsequently feeling "cheated or threatened during three drug transactions".

Earlier Wednesday, Weintraub said police would "continue digging and searching that property until we're satisfied that they are not there".

"I'm sorry", a shackled DiNardo said as he left the courthouse, according to the AP.

The person of interest named in the disappearance of the four Pennsylvania men, Cosmo DiNardo, has confessed to their murders, one of his defense attorneys, Paul Lang, told reporters late Thursday afternoon.

According to law enforcement officials, Dinardo has not yet been charged with Finocchiaro's death.

Sturgis, 22, Thomas C. Meo, 21, and Dean A. Finocchiaro, 18, were last seen on Friday.

The two other missing men are Jimi Patrick, 19, of Newtown Township and Mark Sturgis, 22, of Pennsburg.

The body of one of the men, Dean Finocchiaro, 19, was found at the bottom of a 12½-foot-deep grave on a farm in Bucks County owned by DiNardo's parents.

Investigators with the Federal Bureau of Investigation continued to look for the bodies on the farm, which is owned by Mr Dinarod's family, local media reported.

Person Of Interest In Pennsylvania Disappearances Confesses To Killings
Investigators found the bodies of Finocchiaro, Meo and Sturgis in a 12½-foot-deep grave Wednesday, according to the complaint. The four victims were only connected insofar as they agreed to meet Dinardo to buy marijuana, according to the affidavit.

Jimi Patrick, 19, has been missing since last Wednesday. They're working to identify other remains found in the same grave.

Police found the remains on the 90-acre farm owned by DiNardo's parents. DeNardo attempted to sell the vehicle on July 9, one day after Meow a last seen. This photo provided by the Bucks County District Attorney's Office in Doylestown, Pa., shows Cosmo DiNardo, who was arrested Monday, July 10, 2017.

Prosecutors in Pennsylvania charged a second man Friday with killing four people in Bucks County, a case that's been dubbed the "Solebury slayings" after the town where the incident happened. Three other young men disappeared Friday.

Human remains were discovered Wednesday after search crews worked through sweltering heat and into the night to excavate a grave.

"In exchange for that confession, Mr. Di Nardo was promised by the district attorney that he will spare his life by not invoking the death penalty".

Weintraub has said the relationship between the four young men is not clear. On July 8, Meo's family reported him missing to authorities. Both Kratz and DiNardo have been charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, homicide and abuse of a corpse.

During an earlier press conference, the Bucks County district attorneysaid evidence has been recovered from the property. The charge stems from accusations that DiNardo was caught with a shotgun and ammunition in February despite a prior mental health commitment.

The property owner's son has been taken into custody on $1 million bail over a prior gun charge.
