In June, an independent arbitrator cleared USA track athlete Gil Roberts of wrongdoing after he tested positive for a banned substance in March, though few details of the case were made public.

A professional since 2009, Roberts was part of the United States' 4-by-400 relay team that won gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The case went to an arbitrator in June.

Roberts's urine sample had traces of banned substance Probenecid and following his dazed looks at the results, investigation on the matter revealed that the ace runner actually ingested the substance from kissing his girlfriend Alex Salazar who had taken a medicine for a sinus infection.

Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif could not take their eyes off each other
Later, at a limited media gathering, when Katrina was asked a memorable thing she did when she was 18, she said, "I met Salman". The actor joked that even though he was not the best dancer, organisers are always ready to pay him a fat cheque.

Salazar pulled apart a capsule of medicine that she had obtained in India, poured the contents of the capsule in her mouth, then washed it down with water. USADA said the sides told the arbitrator that Roberts and Salazar "kissed frequently and passionately" when they were together, including on March 24, when Roberts was initially tested. She returned home and saw Roberts while still taking the medication Moxylong, which contained probenecid.

While Roberts's story may sound unique, this is not the first time kissing has led an athlete to fail a doping test.

"It must have been like lightning out of a clear blue sky for (Roberts) to learn that by kissing his girlfriend this time that he was exposing himself to a banned substance", the USADA said in its ruling.

According to the report, Salizar met up with Roberts when she was back in the country on the same day he was visited for out-of-competition testing.
