A new photograph of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall has been released to mark her 70th birthday.

The party was the second celebration of Camilla's birthday, which falls on Monday 17 July.

The photograph was taken at the couple's official London residence, Clarence House, earlier this year in its sunbathed Morning Room, a favourite spot of its previous resident, the late Queen Mother.

The Duchess of Cornwall turns 70 on Monday - 18 months before Prince Charles becomes a septuagenarian himself.

In the image, the Duchess stands next to her husband, the Prince of Wales as they wear matching navy blazers.

In the soft-focus photograph, Camilla looks relaxed and happy, with her soft blonde hair do and natural make-up reflecting her low-key approach to style.

Senator Jenner? It could be more of a possibility than you think
I would hope in the next generation. that we can change the perception of the Republican Party and make it the party of equality. On Wednesday, Grammy nominated music sensation Kid Rock formally announced his run to represent MI in the United States Senate.

The Duchess also invited family and close friends for a separate get-together at Highgrove House on Saturday night for a private party. Her husband, 68, is in a British wool suit, light blue tie and pocket handkerchief. The photographer also added that in 2006, at their first meeting, he had discovered "a person is handsome and generous, with a wonderful sense of humor".

Photographer Mario said he was "honoured" to document the royal couple on such an important date.

'Doing this latest assignment to celebrate Her Royal Highness's 70th birthday is a true honour'.

It followed a reception at Clarence House, which had an even more star-studded guest list - actors Dame Maggie Smith, Joanna Lumley and Richard E Grant were present, as was Australian author Kathy Lette.

Those who attended included the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Camilla's children.

Royal Central will be providing special coverage of the Duchess of Cornwall's birthday throughout the day.
