The next steps in the fight against ISIS

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Sunday that 39 Indians, who went missing in Iraq in 2014, could be in a prison in Badush and more clarity will emerge once the area is cleared of fighting.

They have been knocking the doors of the government since reports of the abductions came in.

It took Iraq's US -backed forces almost nine months to wrest Mosul from the Islamic State group, and the cost was enormous destruction, especially in the western part of the city.

The families, mostly from Punjab, were hoping to receive some "good news" about their kin after the defeat of the terror group in Mosul. "We have been told to wait till the fight is over in Badush", said Gurpinder. "Nearly everyone is disheartened but we hope wherever all youth are they remain safe".

Adressing the media Swaraj said, "have already met them (the families of missing Indians) several times, but this time the situation was different as Iraqi Prime Minister recently announced that Mosul has been liberated from the ISIS". But now it seems that those inputs were wrong.

She said that the Indians, who were abducted by the terrorist organisation ISIS might be somewhere lodged in the jails of Budush, northwest Mosul.

Woman Found Dead In Shower Of Melb Serviced Apartment After Buck's Party
Four men, all aged in their late 20s to early 30s from the ACT and NSW, are now in custody assisting with the investigation. Homicide detectives have taken four men into custody after a woman was found dead inside a Melbourne serviced apartment.

Earlier they told that they have inputs that all youth are in a church in Mosul but now they say their input was not right.

The Iraqi forces took control of eastern Mosul in January after 100 days of fighting, and launched the battle in the west on February 19.

Similarly Harbhajan Kaur also said that it was disappointing that till now there is no concrete information about the missing youth.

Notably, out 39 Indians missing in Iraq, a lot of them hail from Punjab.

This is the twelfth meeting over the last three years for these families. "We called family members of all those who were abducted in Iraq".
