The five-time champion plans to lean on her seven-times champion sister for advice on how to stop Muguruza.

'That only strengthens my belief that if I'm ever in a position to be involved in a Slam for the full fortnight, that I will be able to keep myself in that mental and physical state to play for a title'. The Ladies Singles tournament at Wimbledon has been all sorts of insane at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London these last two weeks. Now I'm knocking on the door for a title.

I'm definitely in the position I want to be in.

'She's still motivated to go for more, which is also very surprising'. "She knows how to play, especially Wimbledon finals".

The Spaniard lost 6-4 6-4 to Serena in the title match two years ago before turning the tables on the 23-times major victor to land her maiden grand slam title at last year's French Open.

Muguruza, seeded 14th, took advantage of a woeful performance from the Slovak world number 87 to secure her third Grand Slam final appearance.

"There's still a lot to be done".

"I wasn't expecting anything because you never know how it's going to go", Muguruza said after the match.

Both Williams and Muguruza won in straight sets to advance to a powerful Wimbledon final.

In January, Williams reached the Australian Open final where she lost to her sister, Serena.

Venus has improved in each match and she's taking more risks on her second serve by hitting it harder and closer to the lines.

"I played a lot of finals here, so I couldn't ask for more, but one more win would be wonderful", Williams said. "The last time she played Serena so I'll have to ask Serena for some pointers", informed Venus. She was beaten by Serena in the 2015 Wimbledon final. Then she promptly broke Magdalena's serve and won her own with a forceful forehand that elicited an error from her opponent.

'Quite honestly, I think I was in with a shot of winning this tournament. "Only one's going to win". She must be considered the favorite in their meeting due to her experience. "I like to think it's working for me". I would love to!' she replied.

"Not that I'm doing something different, honestly. But to have her by my side gives me also this little confidence on having someone that has won before".

Here, with the help of Opta, we look at the best facts as Venus looks to put the Williams name on the honours board for another year.

Venus took only 73 minutes to become the oldest Wimbledon finalist since Martina Navratilova in 1994.

The 10th-seeded Williams is the oldest player in the Wimbledon women's draw this year.

"I'll be ready no matter who is in front of me", Muguruza said. "It was 6-1, 6-1, but still I made an awesome run here to the semifinals".
