Buhari – Resume or resign protests and the necessity of truth

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday at Abuja House in London received members of the Presidential media team, reassuring them that there was tremendous improvement in his health.

The President's absence from the country has generated controversy and his comments come the same week that protesters took to the streets demanding that he resumes or resign.

His unexplained illness has left many in Nigeria questioning whether Buhari is well enough to run the country.

In a bid to convince Nigerians that the Presidential Media Team was with President Muhammadu Buhari in the United Kingdom on Saturday, a video of the visit has been published on Aso Rock's Facebook page. "Here, the doctor is absolutely in charge" the statement quoted him as saying.

The team was led by Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed accompanied by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity; Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, and Lauretta Onochie, Personal Assistant on Digital/Online Media.

Iranian parliament approve budget to strengthen IRGC
The additional United States sanctions put in place last month directly target the missile programme and the IRGC. In the meantime, about $150 million will go to develop Iran's ballistic missiles.

The latest statement described Buhari as "amused" by the conjecture around his health, adding that the President followed events at home closely and praised Nigerian media for keeping him informed. I thank all those who are praying.

"The exercise is to serve as mark of appreciation for the significant and unimaginable positive impacts the Buhari-led government has made, and to dissociate the right thinking and true Nigerians from unfounded and unjustified agitations for the unconditional and quick return of the President Muhammadu Buhari from his legitimate medical vacation in London".

Meanwhile, a group, The True Democrats in Nigeria, says National Grand Solidarity Walk In Support of Buhari/Osinbajo Administration holds tomorrow at Unity Fountain, Abuja.

The presidency also released photos of Buhari walking outdoors.
