On Saturday afternoon, a Virginia State Police helicopter assisting in monitoring the protests crashed in Albermarle County.

Trump said at a bill signing in New Jersey, Americans must come together "with love for our nation. and true affection for each other". "Our hearts go out to their wives and children, and we stand by to support them during this hard time". He said they were "deeply saddened" by the deaths.

The deadly incidents stemmed from clashes between white nationalists and counter-protesters facing off in the streets, at times swinging fists and unleashing chemical sprays at each other. There is no place for this kind of violence in America.

"It's been going on for a long time in our country", Mr Trump said. One person died and at least 26 others were sent to the hospital after a auto plowed into a group of peaceful anti-racist counterprotesters amid days of race-fueled marches and violent clashes.

Far-right activists organised the event on Friday to protest against Charlottesville's plans to remove a statue of Confederate General Robert E Lee from the city.

And since I was a girl I have been admiring Sally Pearson . "This is just so incredible to be a world champion again". Pearson's problems started in 2015 when she broke her wrist in a race fall in Rome at the Diamond League event.

The white nationalist rally was declared an unlawful assembly after the group were initially granted a permit to hold the event.

The US supremo did condemn violence "on many sides' following a frightful display of violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, but was blasted for failing to mention rioting neo-Nazis".

In addition to those injured in the vehicle incident, police said 15 others were wounded in other violence related to the white supremacist rally.

His words came after it was confirmed that three people had died as a result of the violence and dozens had been injured.

Earlier in the day, Charlottesville police said James Alex Fields Jr., 20, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses over the ramming attack perpetrated amid the violence, Sputnik reported. Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Maren Morris, the Brothers Osborne and more condemned the gathering, and shared their thoughts about the White House's response to the situation.
